Shut up. None of that matters. I fight the corruptive power of Desire and the Irregularities who try to wield it, no matter what it is it has to be destroyed. And if this is that source then I will find a means to end it. I’m nothing more or less than who I am right now, so don’t waste my time with your theorizing.

Agnos is a member of the Sequence Intelligence Agency, serving the Pimicerius while being considered a "destroyer in training". He appears in Verse 3 as a secondary character.

He shifts his appearance and abilities depending on the phase he's infused with via his weapon, the Testaments of Terminus.

Basic Bio[]

Agnos is a member of the Sequence Intelligence Agency and is looked after by the Primicerius. Though Agnos doesn't disclose information or identity regarding their leader to outsiders. The implant developed the strange weapon that came to be known as the Testaments of Terminus. In addition, his abilities blur the lines of his status as a human, his alterations making him something more than it, and this has made him an asset to the SIA. Because of his crimson bits that encase his limbs and his power being unlike anything creatable by the NOS' technology in use currently, he is known as the Crimson Precursor.

He lacks memories prior to the event called the Phantom Operations, having participated in the Phantom Operations to some capacity, where he first met Kyana who was serving the Primicerius at the time. She was monitoring his actions and his development as an Irregularity who was compromised somehow. However, ultimately, Agnos would refuse to make an enemy of her and his fondness for the AIP and Prime Field in general allowed him to establish a kinship, despite them initially being enemies. The events in this period would eventually lead to him suffering a mortal wound of some nature, and he was located by the SIA in a near-death state. Somehow, the Sequence Intelligence Agency alongside Lukain would restore him at the request of the original Primicerius, and prevented his soul from breaking down. As a side effect of the implants developed and given to him, his emotions became nearly completely sealed away with him unable to express certain feelings anymore and he became indifferent. This would cause Agnos to lose his connection to most humans, as he has trouble relating to them now. He also denies human desire, and despises it.

He was brought under the care of a certain highly influential individual in the SIA, who taught him how to wield his abilities and assigned him to his former foe, Kyana as his new partner to help monitor him. Despite this, the man is rarely available to be there for Agnos, so he is often left in the care of the Destroyers, primarily, Akuhei who took keen interest in Agnos and his crystal for some reason.

His training in the SIA was fierce, which weened away his reactions to pain allowing him to numb out the agony it causes to alter his body via his Drive. It is instilled in his mind to not trust anyone or get close. Although his training was unforgiving and he was pushed to his limit a bit more every time, Agnos would not trigger a full resonance with his crystal, Terminus. He preferred to keep it out of his body, even though he holds some of the greatest potential of the Destroyers, supposedly since the Genesis Destroyers. He is often compared to the one who was once the system’s greatest ‘hero’ Blood 0.

His first mission involved him taking a life, and learning to survive on his own in the regions of Taoreta, where he was given no backup or help. He gradually grew so distant from mankind that he found companionship with Prime Fields and AIP models, sympathizing with them due to their existence being tampered with by mankind. Primarily, this extended to his partner, Kyana, who was the only one to keep him company over communications during these missions.

Due to their leader being unable to be by his side, the other Sequence Destroyers will often be seen with him, monitoring him. Akuhei would pair Agnos with the other top in their division, Arcius one day, and the two gained a kinship. Though this didn’t change that he put him through difficult missions and he is constantly 'babysitting' him. Agnos seems to get along with the Destroyers to some degree and respects them.

Agnos has also met Nex during a mission in Ibukido in the events of Rebellion Sequence.

Appearance[]

Agnos stands at an average height and frame with longer messy brown hair and dull brown eyes which look somewhat hollow. Compared to his partner, Agnos has a crimson motif.

His attire consists of a black and blood-red SIA outfit stylized to his tastes, which is a high collar jacket that ends at his lower torso. Adorning the strange coat is a strange symbol on its back, along with a couple of thin gold colored metal pieces on it acting as guards, with red engravings on them that also give a small glow. Fastened on his shoulders and legs are another set of gold bits with similar patterns when using his Drive. Underneath his coat, he wears a black uniform with simple red hemming on the ends. He has short sleeves coming only past the shoulder, while his arms are left exposed and displaying the constructs on his skin where his Drive is released across his body. Similar unnaturally integrated constructs cover his ankles, neck, and waist, with all these constructs gradually growing to consume more of his body as he uses his Drive. His hands are covered by red fingerless gloves. His black pants are held up by a red belt with metallic strips on it, and a single large golden guard on his hip that looks like some kind of beast's head with red accents. His pants feed into red shoes with a sleek metal encasing around the toe and the sides.

There are sets of strange markings on his body, that will gradually change depending on the Phase he's in during combat. His arms and legs are prone to becoming consumed by concentrations of the crimson Seithr during his attacks which it's aura will disembody itself from him to become various constructs like talons or spikes.

Personality[]

Agnos is initially known to have something of an indifferent persona, he doesn't talk much if he can help it and can be dismissive toward others. While he can appear aloof and silent, he is actually very informed and is a righteous spirit when it comes to his fight to 'end' desire, and is a bit of an oxymoron for this fact, as he despises desire itself. He is rather straightforward and can come off as curt, keeping his good natured ways subtle and he has difficulty seeing himself as anyone doing any kind of ‘good’ in the world. For this reason he devotes himself to fighting Irregularities who have gone over the edge.

He is one who holds true to his convictions and fights against individuals who are his targets. Although he is prideful and capable of being ruthless, he despises the idea of killing pointlessly, and this extends even more so to the lives of artificial beings such as the Azure Interface Prime Fields. Even so, Agnos will see a task through, regardless of what it requires him to do if he finds it needed. There are moments he can be considered rude and vulgar and lacks much faith in anyone besides himself, claiming to grown disconnected from mankind due to their overwhelming "desire" which he pools into the same category regardless of a person's reason to desire something being right or wrong.

Despite his disdain of relying on others, in truth, his natural nature shows he's capable of working alongside others quite well. Along with this, there are times he can be more lighthearted, but it is very rare, he is typically one to keep to himself. He has something of an identity issue though, as beyond what the SIA painted him as, he doesn’t know ‘who’ he is, but this doesn’t seem to bother him too much. Although Agnos appears quite confident, he does have some issues and reservations, as well as things that can outright terrify him.

Something he can't stand is individuals being treated like mere objects simply because they weren't born like others. This leads to him having a very good understanding and relationship with the AIP. Because they're treated as tools, he doesn't seem to care for a majority in his Government, especially Akuhei. Along with this, Agnos lacks a killer's instinct it seems, as he prefers not to act like his superiors.

Agnos's personality does, however, change, depending on how long he is infused with his crystal.

Plot[]

Rebellion Sequence[]

Agnos was deployed to Ibukido on a mission to collect an object in the area that had their orginization's interest, but while doing so, he ends up meeting Nex.

Control Sequence[]

Agnos is to appear in the third Verse in Control Sequence, Destroyers of Truth as a secondary character. He works alongside the Sequence Destroyers.

Power and Abilities[]

In Lore[]

Agnos is a member of the SIA who has the abilities similar to a Destructive Irregularity, he is considered a ‘Destroyer in training’ and is able to fight with even Phase Reds and the Sequence Destroyers on even ground. His training has caused him to become an efficient and deadly combatant who uses his capabilities to fight those who let their desires overcome their souls and minds, showing no mercy to them.

Agnos’ abilities consist of fluidly stringing together attacks alongside the power and capabilities of the Terminus unique adaptability, the result is an individual who can seemingly be a perfected soldier, capable in every area depending on his Phase which will improve his capabilities in certain areas, ranging from defense, raw damage, enhancement of his physical attacks, and manifesting the Terminus in various shapes for his uses. If he uses them efficiently, his versatility can make him a nearly impossible foe to overcome for most individuals.

Apparently, according to Nex, he’s difficult to fight and predict the movements of, even for his Azure.

Agnos' major weakness is if an opponent doesn't let him gain any kind of momentum or is smart enough to outplay his phases, and the damage he'll suffer from his phases being countered results in him going down rather quickly. The key to Agnos’ combat ability overthrowing his foe is dependent on his skill and knowledge of when to use his phase and correctly responding, building up to higher phases. However, he can run into issues of overusing his Phases, causing the limiters to restrain his body and knock him down to his standard phase. There is a Phase beyond Unification, but he cannot access it.

In Combat[]

Agnos is a close combat artist who can craft a weapon for greater range, and is a pure rushdown fighter who has to be smart about his uses of his phases. He has access to different forms of enhancement for his Terminus in combat.

  • Engage Phase: Heightens his speed and durability. In this state, the crystal providing little to no enhancement, but he can still perform some basic strikes and manifestations. It's well balanced and safe to stay in, but offers no additional effects.
  • Repulse Phase: A more defensive set that he should take for repelling a strike, this will result in the manifestation of several crimson spikes and constructs that flow around him that deal heavy damage to an enemy. If it fails he'll fall back into Engage phase and lose access to it until a period of time passes.
  • Enhance Phase: A Phase for increasing Agnos' combat potentials, every one of his moves gains a automatic finisher, and will summon the Terminus in various forms. Heavily offensive phase, Agnos is faster, but it requires immense precision from him or it is wasted.
  • Manifest Phase: Summons the Edge form of Terminus' power, giving Agnos a deadly weapon and automatic manifestations in addition to his close combat skills. If hit during this phase, Agnos will suffer increased damage.
  • Unification Phase: Agnos' strongest phase he can currently access. It will cause a unification between himself and Terminus, resulting in a unit of power overtaking Agnos briefly. In that form he has no downsides, however he has to make successful usage of all his other phases before being able to use it. It will end automatically and rest to Engage Phase.

Trivia[]

  • Agnos' move theme is based on variations of "end", "ending" "to bring to an end".
  • Agnos is a Greek word for 'Pure'.
  • Agnos hates Desire and claims to reject it, yet, he is said to have an impossibly powerful desire of his own to 'end' this power. This has caused him to be something of a paradox, and Lukain admits his possibility is a wild card.
